I Just Remembered, I Have a Blog

I have still been writing. I am not moving as quickly as I would like to be, but I am still close to writing the last part of this book. Things are coming together very nicely and I am pleased with the ending I have in mind, but for it to make sense, I do occasionally work backwards to adjust the scaffolding of implications I wrote and now better understand. Strengthening those chapters can either be fun or torturous.
As I write, thoughts come in bursts and are sometimes underdeveloped. That’s how it goes. I tell myself, that isn’t a reason to stop–get it written down and move on, ride the wave until it crashes and then see what the water has pulled back to reveal. But when writing a story with a plot line based on the made up history of the world I have built, sometimes revisions are necessary for myself to see the big picture move forward.
So that’s what I’ve been doing the last few months. Getting bogged down in the details, revising what has been illuminated as I’ve gone forward. I am back to primarily working on the novel and not tinkering around with the Mr. James story. I have one more chapter that is mostly complete and I’ll post that in a few days, but that story is what it is, something that I enjoy playing around with and will continue to write, but not a project I want to spend too much time on. At least not right now.
This blog is, however, and I need to do a better job of updating it and I will. So stop yelling at me, voices. I hear you.

Hey! Just found this blog. Nice literary musings, so far. The idea behind your story with Mr. Jay has certainly sparked some interest, from me at least, so kudos for that. As for your book, I’ll be waiting for its release, too! Your actual writing and overall chronicled development helped, yes, but there’s something else, something else that drew me to this blog. I actually found it while searching for my name in Google. I know it’s not a complete surprise but I figured Gnann is fairly uncommon, and Matt Gnann is uncommon enough to warrant a little hello message. But then I went full stalker mode and did a WHOIS lookup on kombobulation.com(yeah, I was bored I guess) and found out you live in Atlanta! Which is kind of cool because I live in Savannah. Just wondering if maybe you were of the Salzburger strain, or something like that.
Oh, and one more thing that interests me about your Mr. Jay stories, I happen to have an older brother named Jay(James), and that is the kind of story he’d write. Cheers!

Hi Tensuke. Thanks for reading, I’m glad you found the blog and I hope you continue to check back. Oh, and congrats! You’ve broken ground for comments on my blog, I appreciate that! As for our fairly uncommon last name, you are right, I am from the Salzburger strain–straight out of Ebenezer. I’m also originally from the Savannah area, but moved to Atlanta after college. Glad you enjoyed the Mr. Jay chapters and I’ll tell you, Jay’s actual name is James as well, but I liked using the shorter form in the story. Hope you will continue to read and leave me your thoughts.
